Official URL: http://www.euskomedia.org/analitica/244 AbstractThe background to the physical education degree studies shows a variety of study syllabuses over the twenty years which seperate the founding of the INEF from the need to adapt sylabuses to the "University Reform Act" of 1987, sylabuses developed basically by specifing the contents to a greater extent of new areas of professional action and a more profund study of scientific subjects. Within the specialization area of physical education of EGB (General Basic Education) teachers, there has also been a logical development of programmes and contents, although this has ocurred over a shorter period. A comparision and analysis of the present curriculum, in Euskadi, for specialization in physical education and the future degree adapted to the L.R.U., provides us with the key to the social function of the syllabuses and the placement of future professionals in the labour market. The fact that we are dealing with a science in search of its own identity and in a phase of development, justifies the extension of both curriculums and their foreseable development in the near future
