Abstract

In this work we study the different concepcion which, along the times, have been held about sport and physical activities, from the remotest antiquity (primitive societies), through oriental culture (China, India, Egypt), to the greek, who have been of great importance for the development of sport ad physical activities. Later on, we study the period of decadence with the Romans and in the Middle Ages, reaching the Renaissance, which meant the revival of physical activities. Finally, are studied modern schools (Sweedish, German and French)
