Abstract

In the present article are stuidied the characteristics of the right of self-determination of the peoples, alwaysfrom the international law view. With this purpose, on one hand, the historic events and contents of such law, doing reference to four of the last decolonized processes (Namibia, Palestina, Sahara and Timor Oriental), are analysed. And on the other hand, as a consequence of the happened changes in Europe during the last decade, it is discussed the possibility that we are facing a new concept or the right of self-determination of the peoples.
