Abstract

This piece of research has set out to analyse the importance of the different domains of self-concept in overall self-concept and, in the physical domain, the importance of each sub-domain in physical self-concept and overall self-concept. The sample comprises 495 subjects divided into three age groups: adolescents, young people and adults. Physical attractiveness is the best indicator of physical self-concept and overall self-concept, and is the sub-domain that best correlates with both of them.
