Une musique "appenzelloise": les quintettes à cordes

Abstract

In the Swiss canton of Appenzell, the string quintet forms part of the local tradition. However, it draws on the influence of many other musical practices (instruments, repertory). Furthermore, the present musicians no longer use the same techniques as their predecessors: the "typical" has been progressively replaced by a more standardised style, without the musicians, however, losing their identity. This article aims to draw attention to the convenience of respecting different musical techniques and, in general, the corporeity of the music itself.
