Abstract

Marine anthropology is the study of the technical, social and cultural specificities of the societies that exploit the sea. It is a multidisciplinary science that takes into account that national and international scales are compulsory. A typology of maritime society and their irreducible and structural particularities have been established. Together with a fundamental maritime anthropology, another "active" maritime anthropology is started together with new areas of research.
