Reference is also made to children in critical state, that is, children in Intensive Care Units for the recently born and paediatric Intensive Care Units. This article is the product mainly of the experience of two professional paediatric nurses that collaborated in its drafting. The article is centred fundamentally on the psychological facet of admittance into such units.
