El agua como remedio

Abstract

The study of Basque medical hydrology is treated, with a particular emphasis on Guipúzcoa. The role played by physicians and chemists of the Royal Society of Friends of the Country is essential for the wakening of medical hydrology in Guipúzcoa, as it starts later, in spite of its richness, than in the rest of the Country, probably because of the limited Romanization and Islamization of this territory. A detailed study is made in relation to the contributution of Royal Basque Society in this field, and sbsequently are chronologically detailed the vicissitudes of the 11 balnearies of Guipúzcoa in the past century.
