Abstract

Since 1975, architecture and town planning in the Basque Country has been developed in line with international trends. We can highlight the improvement in the constructed environment, historic centres and the landscape; the very significant repercussions of the "Guggenheim Effect" and the urban renewal of Bilbao with its unprecedented impact worldwide, as well as the emerging awareness towards sustainable development.
