Five of them, including the feral Columba livia, are breeding birds in Hungary. Streptopelia orientalis has only one record as a vagrant. The breeding population of Columba oenas is stable. The population of Columba palumbus has increased steadily from the 1950s, and their breeding area has been enlarged considerably. Streptopelia turturis a widespread and regular breeding bird in Hungary. Streptopelia decaocto is a resident and widespread breeding bird confined to human settlements.
