Abstract

In Basque art one must to determine what is genuine and what has been imported. Adhesion to styles such as the Romanesque style, is to be emphasized. For example, the Romanesque style was still being used two centuries after the introduction of the Gothic. Woodwork is the most popular art although sculpture and painting also attained a considerable importance. Complete catalogation of the works of art in the Basque Country has now become necessary
