Práctica festiva y tradición en las celebraciones urbanas actuales

Abstract

This article examines the role played by tradition, particularly of the tradition socially perceived as folklore, in today’s festive celebrations. It discusses the fact that the obvious complexity of the group of social agents participating in these celebrations must forcibly have a bearing on the presentation and perception of a tradition whose dimension as a show and whose mise en scene are the dominant aspect. Special attention is also paid to the problem of axiological dissonance.
