Kapela konikoak Euskal Herriko folklorean

Abstract

This study is the result of the analysis of an element of the traditional clothing which survives in some dances and celebrations of the Basque Country: the conical hats. By means of the situation of each example, they result two different geographical areas: the atlantic and the mediterranean areas. Their characteristics are in opposition. The symbolic aspects which move around the conical hats are analysed too. In this way, information of the conical hats in other areas is collected and analysed in relation to the ethnography and archaeology.
