Folklore de Erroibar

Abstract

The study of the folklore in the Navarrese Erro valley is a field work made applying an intensive questionnaire achieved by our group "ORTZADAR" to some people in all the villages and places in the zone. The work group was formed by eight people, all of them members of the Research Committee with the help of young people from the valley. Considering a population census of less than a thousand people, 77 people were deeply enquired, being their average year of birth the 1910. The aspects of traditional culture in this study deal with the folkloric calendar, fiestas, festivals, carnivals, "mayordomos", dance, music, clothing, games, popular medicine, etc. This vork is the kind of investigation we use in order to compile traditional culture in different valleys of our geography.
