Gipuzkoako dultzaina

Abstract

The aim of this short study on the "dulzaina" is to gather a wide and varied information about this instrument in Gipuzkoa. Apart from the few data taken from previous studies carried out by our first researchers (Iztueta, Donostia,...), and from some notes on the "double reed" (oboe) taken from some Etnomusicologits, here we gather data taken in most cases directly from the last "dulzain" players who performed in our country and from persons well acquainted with this phenomenun (relatives, amateurs, etc...). The study is divided into four parts:1.- General information: History, anecdotes, characteristics,...2.- List of "Dulzain" players: Information files.3.- Manufacturers: List of manufacturers in Guipuzkoa.4.- Repertory (a small sample of what has been gathered up to now: 20 melodies).
