Abstract

The apple tree is the most ancient fruit-bearing tree in the Basque Country. Together with the chestnut, it is the most numerous at present. Non autochthonous fruit-bearing trees demand great care, furthermore, climatic conditions tend not to be the best. Even so, fruit farming has a great future and large benefits are to be obtained. In order to increase such farming, there is a need for teaching centres in which students could be trained in the latest advances in this field
