Official URL: http://www.euskomedia.org/analitica/1139 AbstractThe present article contains information about Nemesio Etxaniz, the renowned priest and writer, on the centennial of his birth (Azkoitia, 1899 - Donostia, 1982. His considerable importance in the renovation of Basque songs) is recalled and analyzed (Kanta-kantari, 1952) as well as his work on Basque theatre (Izeko Aberatsa, Irulearen negarra, 1952), in the hard times of the Franquist regime. Mention is also made to his great talent as a writer, which he proved with his poems (Lur Berri Bila, 1966), and novels (Ameriketan galdua, 1966; Izotz kandelak, 1992), the latter published after his death.
