Abstract

In 1566 a papal Bulla authorised the separation of the Spanish part of the diocese of Bayonne as long as Protestantism lasted in France. However, the diocese of Bayonne continued collecting the tithes in the Navarran part that belonged to this diocese as is recorded in various documents
