Abstract

New orthographic systems have been devised in order to normalize spelling in the Basque language, however, one of the principal problems is the representation of the castilian "ch" and the soft "g" sounds (gue, gui). The author suggests the use of a smaller letter "u" to represent a silent "u" after the "g" such as in "legue", "guizon", etc
