Abstract

The author considers that the translation to Basque of the New Testament undertaken by Leizarraga is as near Calvin's French version as two different versions can be in two different languages. However, he considers that the version in Basque is better than that in French since it expresses the sense of the Greek text better. On the other hand, he considers that the name that should be used is "Leizarraga" and not "Lizarraga"
