Abstract

The zortziko is a typical dance of the Basque Country, whereas the round dance in 5-8 is typical of Burgos and Soria. They are similar, but before deciding which of them is more ancient, it is necessary to determine if there are other dances of the same kind in the area. However, it is necessary to bear in mind that the history of part of Soria and Burgos is related to that of the Kingdom of Navarre as can be observed in the Basque influence of some village names in these provinces. Even so, it is difficult to ascertain which dance dates farther back into the past
