Abstract

The first reference that appears of a Basque sculptor it is that of Gamboa that sculpted the altarpiece of Zaragoza Cathedral in 1483. Juan Olotzaga decorated the facade of the cathedral of Huesca and Olarte and the Morlanes, together with their son Diego are also mentioned. A history of sculptures carried out by Basques from 1483 to the end of the 18th century is drawn up and mention is made to the works accomplished
