Abstract

Biography of three experts on the Basque language. Astarloa was born in Durango in 1752, he was a great lover of the Basque Country and language. In 1803 he wrote an apology of the Basque language in which he relates it with ancient Iberian. When he died, Zamácola y Erro published his writings. Zamácola was born in Dima, he emigrated to France where he wrote the "History of the Basque Nations". Erro was born in Andoain, he received all the papers and manuscripts from Astarloa and Zamácola and he advocated his projects
