Abstract

The image of women, re ected through art and produced in the 18th and 19 th centuries, easily transmits the ideal woman as assumed in that society, independently of her social condition: el that of a good daughter, wife and mother. Besides the separation of women and men in society is reaf rmed, by emphasising their respective functions.
