Abstract

The author offers some biographical data on Antoine d’Abbadie as published in the "Revue des Basses-Pyrénées et des Landes", mainly reference to the prestige that d'Abbadie enjoyed among the Basques and the Bearnois in Paris. The author also offers the data which appear in his correspondence with the Jesuit priest, José Ignacio Arana, on physics, astronomy and geodesy. Finally, the author clarifies that the sponsor of the books by Lécluse and Darrigol was Arnaud-Michel, the father, and not the son, Antoine.
