Abstract

The work done by Antoine d'Abbadie on Basque culture at the end of the nineteenth century was very important, he also established relations between the intellectuals of the north and the south of the Basque Country. He formed the group which collaborated with Louis Luciano Bonaparte, Inchauspe, Duvoisin, José Antonio de Uriarte, Echenique, Salaberry and Claudio Otaegui. On the other hand, he remained far from the grammatical ideas of Julien Vinson, Charency and Arturo Campion. These relationships or dislikes produced meetings, discussions, criticisms and letters, and it is by studying all these debates that we have been able to improve our knowledge on the intellectual network which functioned at the time of Antoine d'Abbadie.
