Abstract

This article is a reflection on the various Basque historiographies. As from the 16th century there has always been a historic narrative expressed in Basque. In this context historic memoirs and outlooks have been developed, expressed by Basque-speaking creators. The Basque-speaking population of the Basque Country emerges and becomes a historiographic subject by means of various narratives Finally, some ideas are suggested on the challenges of historians for the development of a renewed historiography of Vasconia.
