First, the prolongation of a phase of deceleration of the main world economies that began around the end of the year 2000. Secondly, the instability generated by the September 11th events in the United States and the subsequent entry of Alliance troops into Afghanistan. Thirdly, there is the uncertainty on a possible recovery of economic activity, which will presumably be delayed until the second semester of the year 2002.
