Abstract

This work contains some introductory references on the social penetration of the language from the historical point of view and about the objective parameters of officialdom. A description is made of the restrictive declaration on the official character of the Basque language in the Autonomic Statute of Navarre when drawing up different geographic zones. And in the description of the linguistic law the characteristics of the regime in each one of the zones is taken into account: more or fuller official character in the Basque-speaking zone, a special protection regime in the mixed zone, and a complete lack of commitments by the Administration in the non Basque-speaking zone.
