Starting with the work by Lope García de Salazar, the study delves into their self-perception and into the conformation of their own cultural model. The worshipping of ancestors, genealogical invention and, in fact, a particular re - reading of History, are expressed as elements of a strategy of survival in the twilight of the Middle Ages.
