Abstract

In the opinion of J.M. Malhain, teacher at Monguerre, women occupy a place of privilege in the Basque family nucleus, as is proven by popular sayings. She particularly looks in to the education imparted to young girls, that is more painstaking than that for boys, and thus provides girls with a greater refinement and vital sensibility.
