Abstract

Description of shepherding in Aya, a quarter of Ataun of 352 in habitants, in Gipuzkoa. The authorstudies the low, middle and high areas of the mountain: their climatic conditions, the varieties of vegetation, the transformations of the landscape carried out by man, the pastures, the houses, farms, huts and "txabolas" of the shepherds, the number and composition of the herds, etc.
