Abstract

Saint-Pée-sur Nivelle offers the curious example of an autonomous community wisely administered byits landowners, who enjoyed a beautiful dominion: the forests of Saint-Pée. For the management of the same acomplete regulation was drafted. Until the 1789 French Revolution put an end to this beautiful autonomy, and thismeant the end of the government of the "etcheco-jaun".
