Abstract

Silvio Zavala mantains that Juan de Zumárraga, Bishop of Mexico, and Vasco de Quiroga, Bishop of Michoacán, inspired themselves in Erasmus' ideas and texts in addition to Utopia, by the English humanist Thomas Moore (1478-1535). The author asserts he found the copy of Utopia that belonged to Zumárraga.
