Official URL: http://www.euskomedia.org/analitica/6783 AbstractThe president of the Laurak Bat Centre in Buenos, Aires Bernardino Uriarte, explains that the objective of its foundation in 1877 was to group the Basque residents in the Argentine capital in defence of the traditional freedoms of the Basque Country and of its essential features. He then describes their social and cultural work. Curiously, each year, in application of article 87 of their bylaws, Laurak Bat raises a formal protest against the laws of 25th October 1839 and 21st July 1876 that abolished the Basque Jurisdictions.
