Abstract

The festivity of las Nieves de las Machorras, celebrated by the pasiegos that settled in the province of Burgos, represents a complex ritual system organised around the symbolic and emblematic dimension of the figure of the Virgin, through which there is a periodic reinforcement of identities and sociabilities of age groups, gender groups and the festive community as a whole.
