Abstract

This article is intended, first, to understand and describe the process of globalisation, the different interpretations that have been provided on this complex process, its generative causes and the multiple impacts it causes. Secondly, the idea is to show how globalisation affects cities and how it is intimately related with processes of social production of poverty and exclusion in purportedly advanced societies.
