Abstract

The author studies from a historical perspective the maritime field in Berango and Leioa, two towns in Biskaia, during the Ancient Regime. The author centres his efforts on the human reaction before marine reality (mentalities), and on the analysis of economic activities related to the sea. He also emphasises the impact that the Naval War had on the inhabitants of these towns and on their activities.
