Abstract

That text is about the evolution of the ideals of modern architecture in the Basque Country in a very short period of time, which elapsed between 1928 and late 1930. However, it is not possible to explain those three years as an exclusively internal history, above all if we take into account the protagonists, the architects José Manuel Aizpúrua (who ended his career in 1927), Joaquín Labayen (who died in 1927) and Luis Vallejo. Nothing that happened in Europe was unknown to them.
