Abstract

This article does not cover either Basque popular songs or ancient music, but what one could call popular songs transformed to more erudite forms. In the 18th century, there appears a form of song that is a predecessor to the type of song that was performed in the theatre play intervals. The author introduces various such songs together with the names of thir authors
