"Eusko Ikaskuntza" was founded in 1918 and instituionalised anthropology in the Basque Country. The "Sociedad de Estudios Aranzadi" was founded later. The early stages of the Basque Anthropology are dominated by Aranzadi, Barandiarán and Eguren
