Abstract

While Gárate emphasized Humboldt' s contribution to Basque linguistics, Mitxelena underlined his absence of originality and his debt with Astarloa. Humboldt' s relationship with Astarloa and Mogel and their mutual influence in the grammatical, lexical and toponymy area is summarized. The paper specifies another well known aspects of Humboldt. Humboldt' s contribution to Cultural Anthropology is studied
