Abstract

This study collects the woodcarvings of civil and religious buildings at the Trucios Valley (XVth century up to the end of the XIXth century). These elements are part of the building and those most frequently found in civil buildings are: gable-ends, corbels, balustrades, posts, balcony supports and gables. For religious buildings plenty of gable-ends have been found as well as choir balustrades, posts and bases for porticos. Neither altarpieces nor pulpits from parish and hermitage churches have been studied
