La gogona, la gona o el sundede

Abstract

This paper presents an ethnographical study of how the 37 villages situated in the Yerri and Gueslaz valleis, in the north of Estella (Navarra), perfomed the traditional rite that marked the stage from the childhood to the adolescence. The rite consisted basically in going grom house during the Christmas Eve of the year when the boy was 16 singing a traditional song. After this rite the boy was considerer as a young man with all his social duties and rigths. He could represent his house in the community, go to the pubs, go out with girls, etc.
