Abstract

For the first time in human memory, with the Internet distance and time of transit are vanishing as barriers to communications. New cyber-communities are developing that cross national boundaries, cultures, and time zones. This presentation examines how Internet can be coupled with other communications means to facilitate international commerce as well as cultural development and interaction in an existing geographically defined community. The author speculates on implications for the Basque Country.
