Abstract

During the time between May 25th and June 2nd of 1936, a general strike of large dimensions was dwelt in Vitoria. The motives argued for it were of labour type: to offset the standstill of the workers in the province of Alava. Nevertheless, the analysis of such arguments provides as result a sort of situation witch didn't justify a strike on its own. The moment was more critical in Biscay and Guipuzcoa, but these provinces remained in calm. So this comunication tries to explain that general strike with political causes
