Abstract

The are several towns in Guipuzcoa that still keep the traditional religious processions in the Holy Week, being Azkoitia and Segura two of the most known. In this article a catalogue of all their pasos is made as well as their valuation, covering the mentioned pasos the different narrative styles of the Passion. Even if the sculptural groups made in this century are various, still remain different images of the modern period. Between this last ones, the most remarkable are St. John the Baptist (Segura), the lying Christ and the Pity (Azkoitia). The most dramatic moments are chosen to get the sought end: sentiment. One more time, this external liturgy gets its most firm help in a work of art
