Abstract

Description of the Basque, Bearnais and Provenzal timbrels, that consist of a box with cords that is beaten with a drumstick. It is held with the left hand, together with the "chirula", and is beaten on with the right hand. The author describes the timbrels and "chirulas" that exist in other regionsand the history of such instruments
