Abstract

History of the victory of Admiral Santurce against the bereber corsairs in 1613. The corsairs had decided to wait in Cádiz for the fleet that was sailing from America and, in the meantime, robbed a French ship in Gibraltar on the day that the people were in the hermitage celebrating the festivity Our Lady of Europe. However, Muley knew that the corsairs were there and notified the Captain General of Ceuta, who informed the Spanish Galleys. Since he was within assaulting distance, Admiral Santurce decided to attack and he defeated the corsairs
