Historia del pensamiento en el País Vasco a partir de la segunda guerra carlista

Abstract

The author summarizes the history of thought in the Basque Country starting with the situation in Spain in the 19th century. The Free Teaching Institute, the generation of 1998, the industrialization in Bizkaia, the crisis of the agrarian sector, the crisis in national conscience, all are analyzed. The author then introduces the attempts to solve the problems of the Basque Country devised by Campión, Alzola, Perezagua, Meabe, Madinabeitia, Arana Goiri, their cultural attempts, etc. The triple problem that existed then, that is, the crisis of the agrarian sector, the problems of industrialization and the crisis of the national identity are still present in the Basque Country
